South Australia the Festival State

Well Mad March is over, but there is still plenty on in South Australia!

With the myriad of festivals and events in Adelaide over the last month, some of you may be looking to take a bit of a break.  But true to it’s name South Australia is the festival state and there are still many more terrific events on the calendar for the remainder of the year. 

So don’t let the cooler weather keep you at home, plan to head out to some of these events. 

Barossa Vintage Festival, Tanunda | 19-23 April 2017

The 70th Barossa Vintage Festival gives you the chance to experience more than 90 events over 5 days.  This festival celebrates the community, heritage, arts, food & wine of the region. To find the right events for you visit their website:

Tasting Australia, Adelaide | 30 April – 7 May 2017

Celebrate local South Australian produce throughout the Tasting Australia event. This eating and drinking festival runs for 8 days and celebrates premium food & wine in Adelaide. Visit Tasting Australia for more details:

Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend, Clare Valley | 19 – 22 May 2017

Meet the winemakers and find out what makes this region so special, while enjoying regionally inspired cuisine and live music. This weeeknd celebrates the end of vintage with a focus on the Clare Valley’s award winning food and wine. More than 20 wineries will be joining in, visit their website to find out more:

The Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival, Copper Coast | 19 May 2017

This festival is held every two years in the towns of Moonta, Wallaroo and Kadina to celebrate the region’s Cornish heritage and attracts more than 40,000 people. You can find the official program of events here:

Winter Reds Weekend, Adelaide Hills | 28 – 30 July 2017
